Taxon navigation is the ability to directly sense the place you want to be. Sometimes, however, that is not the place you are ‘supposed’ to be. Reverse migration is a phenomena that causes a birds navigation system to lead them in an opposite direction of where they would usually travel. Flamingos falling out of the sky in Siberia are likely ending up there because of such a glitch. Another speculation is that they get confused by sensing warm air from north during autumn storms.
